Adding New Area

What is the maximum number of operating areas are allowed for Onde.light? And which tool can I use to add other areas?Where is the set area functionality found?Lastly,If I add a new operating area, do I have to physically be at the location or I can just add as many cities remotely?

Hi, Keletsom! Thank you for your question.

Your company has one operational area only, it cannot be increased or multiplied. However, you can add up to 10 different working zones inside of it. You are welcome to check this video on how to work with an operational area editor: Custom operational area | Onde Help Center

Or read this article for step-by-step instructions:

Hope this helps!

Hi,
It’s well noted that my registration on Ondelight has given my company one operational area called Johannesburg. The location where I launched my business. However, as you mentioned that I can add up to a maximum of 10 working areas within the operational area. But I’m amazed that the system is not allowing me to add towns or zones within the operational area including exact area where I launched the business ( Bedfordview). The system only allowed me to add one working zone(Sandton) within the operational area. Can you clarify what could be wrong? And also will you please clarify on the size or kilometers provided for an operational area.
Thanks.

Dear Keletsom,

Thank you for your message. Your operational area is limited to 100 km radius (big green circle in the operational area editor). You can add working zones inside this circle.

Can you please clarify a bit what you mean by “the system is not allowing me to add towns or zones within the operational area”? What steps do you take? What error message do you see? Screenshots of the problem would be very helpful.

Nadya

Hi,

Within the operational area there are small towns. So far the operational editor allowed me to add one operational area being Sandton City.I typed the name in search area. Then Google was able to pick up Sandton. Then I edited it to use Sandton City name and as second working zone. But Google maps can’t do same with other working zones the way it did with Sandton. Can you clarify why?

Dear Kelestom,

Thank you for your question. Please, note that working zones are not added automatically and there is not search by the town name option in the operational area editor. You need to draw polygons that cover the necessary locations yourself. Please, check this video for more details Custom operational area | Onde Help Center

To clarify, if you DON’T add working zones, your entire operational area is your working zone, is that correct?

In the United States rideshare is regulated at the State level. In WL Onde production arrangement, will Onde engineers draw the operational area around the state borders?

Dear Partner,

You need to draw at least 1 working zone in the operational area of your company. Otherwise your services won’t be shown in your Web app.

Working zones borders are drawn not by Onde, but by partners themselves.

So, if my legal operational area is the entire State of Florida, is this a circumstance where, to include additional regions of my state, I would create a new, separate OndeLight instance (rumborideshare2?) in order to cover my territory? What if I needed three, or 4 operational areas?

Also, to be clear, can the one working zone area have a radius (100 km) equal to the operational area?

Dear Partner,

Operational area has a maximum radius of 100km. You can extend the working zone to 100km in radius as well, making it 200km in diameter.
If you need to cover some larger area, you need to create another Onde light company, as the operational area cannot be extended further than 100km in radius.

Anna
