Otp issues . unable to receive otp code

My challenges now is customer app

Any time customer wants to register first on my customer app .it will request for otp code which will be sent directly to Whatsapp number the customer provided.the code doesn’t come as SMS .and if the customer didn’t register the phone number on Whatsapp he won’t receive the code .

Pls is there anyway u cade disabled the otp code or allowed the otp code to come as SMS and Whatsapp . because not everybody use WhatsApp and is a big challenge to grow customer.i await ur response on this . thanks

Hi, Victor125! Yes, we send OTP codes through Whatsapp to some regions. Could you kindly advise the country you operate in? I will check if we have any alternative solutions for it.

Dear Victor,

Currently OTP to Nigeria are sent via SMS+WhatsApp. If a customer doesn’t have WhatsApp installed, OTP is delivered as a regular SMS. If a customer doesn’t receive SMS, he should perform basic troubleshooting steps such as:

  1. kill and restart the app
    2. reinstall the app
    3. make a new attempt to get an sms code
    ​
    Also, to rule out any device issues, please:
    -Power Cycle the device (turn it off and then turn it back on again) to reconnect to Carrier Network
    -Free up memory by deleting old messages
    -Make sure the device is in good cell coverage
    -Make sure the device is not in roaming status or ported
    -Check if sms traffic from other apps is delivered
    -Alternatively, please swap the SIM to another phone to verify if the delivery issue is phone-related
